I exposed once for the sky and once for the shadowed wall and combined the two in Photoshop. Then I combined the image with itself and started messing it up in different ways.
Well, I can sense a definite mood in this image, Don, but I certainly can’t define it. I do like the image, though if it were mine, I’d probably lose a bit of the bottom, but that’s just my taste in vertical aspect ratios. I think sometimes we just need to make an image for self therapy.
I’m not sure what the mood is, but this makes me uneasy. I think it’s the tall, vertical orientation with the trees at the very top. Feels like it will tip over. The textures are very cool, though.

uneasy is a good expression, some photos are a bit challenging to look at (not in a bad way)

If “fascinating” and a “mind-bender” were moods, then that’s what I would say. To be honest about it though, this doesn’t evoke a “mood” for me really - but to be clear, you, the creator of the image most certainly had a mood, experienced a mood or feeling in and around the creation of this abstract. As the viewer, I’m completely removed from any emotional attachment.
Ok, so I had to get that out.
More importantly, this is perhaps one of your best and most engaging and fascinating abstracts; off hand, perhaps one of my top favorites of yours. Why? Of course I doubt anyone see’s what I’m seeing, but I see the bottom portion as a subterranean world - a cut-away from the world above and on the surface. Trees growing on a slope, but then the earth cut away revealing all the details and mystery below ground. In the same way, I also relate this to an ant farm - you know those ant farm kits behind glass where you could watch ants dig their tunnels, etc.
This is just so very unique. The top half, no need to explain what it is - but beneath, it’s just a mind-bender to me. I keep staring and exploring that subterranean world.
