Shifting Mist

Image(s)

Image Description

What I love the most about low clouds and fog is how it moves and shifts from minute to minute. When I first started walking down this beach on the Oregon Coast, the hills in the distance were totally obscured. As I approached closer the fog shifted, revealing the detail of the land. The lone person strolling down the beach, along with a few seabirds, adds to the allure of the image.

Ted: All things considered, the Oregon Coast is probably my most favorite place on the planet. The person and the birds make this even more special. I also really like the color palette. So makes me want to be there. BTW, I’m not placing this among beaches I’m familiar with. Do you mind sharing the location? >=))>

Thanks Bill. I too love the Oregon Coast, and try to get over there 3-4 times/year. This photo was from 2021, so I don’t recall the exact beach it was taken from. But I believe it was on the north end of the coast, probably around Cannon Beach.

When I look at your image I find myself becoming the person on the beach watching Mother Nature at work. Nicely done!!

Hi Ted,
Lots to enjoy here. The atmospherics with the fog are quite nice as they swirl around the hills along the shoreline and I am loving the solitary figure strolling along the beach as well as those shorebirds. This tells a wonderful story as I could see myself there listening to the waves crash along the shore while enjoying the cool dampness of the fog and mist. Very contemplative image IMO and nicely done!

I see quite a few magnificent images from the Oregon Coast, and this one is no exception. Your image is gorgeous and looks a little on the wild side.

I love seeing the birds and person walking along. There seems to be a bit of CA around the person and the one leg that is a bit more saturated bugs me a little. Just some thinking out loud here. I feel like I want to see a little more sea and the end of the bluff if you have it?

Thank you @Ed_Lowe @Jmill59 and @glennie for your feedback and suggestions. They are all much appreciated.
