Spring and warm weather have been dragging their feet in northern Arizona, on a recent walk after a few mild days I spotted this beautiful bloom, what a show of spring and stunning colors.

Lovely flower Laura. Definitely has the feel of spring with the gorgeous purple against the soft green background. Thanks for posting and sharing it with us.
Linda, thank you, I appreciate the kind words.
The pleasure in seeing this comes from the wonderful complimentary colors of deep magenta and deep green. Even though apparently handheld, the detail of the stamens and stigma and of the little hover bee are clearly visible and add interest.
Hi Dick, that was the pleasure for me. Yes, you are right my camera was hand-held I am currently upgrading and changing my equipment, a new light and easy to carry tripod is on the agenda, I have yet to use a tripod, so there will be an interesting learning curve I am looking forward to. And I must say, I missed the hover bee, thanks for noticing.
