Sinister Jay

Looking at some older shots and saw this one. I liked the framing of the vegetation and the sinister look. I did use considerable edit in the way of content aware fill to remove some light distracting branches. Most of the image is in a shadow including the bird and the green leaves.

Hello, Creg - nice image - I love the curious (or sinister as you see it) look . The overal setting is nice. The eye looks as if you either lightened it up or it was just closing it or something ? Cheers, Hans

The framing is super nice, Greg. The color rendition looks good, too. There is something funky with the sharpness/acuity of the image. I am not sure if it’s processing or lens/TC combination?

I like the composition with the bird and branches at similar angles. I think the blues and greens complement each other nicely. I might try to darken the branch behind the jay. I’d say he was giving you the eye. Nice capture.

Thank you all! It was a bit of a push cropping pretty tight and I wouldn’t display it very large but just liked the setting.
