I like this a lot. The black asphalt as a window into the sky. Well seen! Is there a slight vignette? I like that too. It focuses our eyes on the edges of the puddle/reflection.

Nice! I love the way the surface tension of the water reflects the light and outlines the texture of the asphalt.
Thanks. I tried to edit the line through the sky just now. Doesn’t look natural. So leave it alone and I’ll just accept it. Nothing is perfect.
Holy cow, Gill! This is great. So well seen, and processed. I don’t mind the line through the middle at all. It gives a sense of belonging in a human landscape. Bitumen and powerline (or lightpole? I’ll never know and that’s the mystery.)

Wow, this is so very cool! I love that you’ve presented in such a dark and mysterious fashion. Not that it matters, but you either captured it dark like with manual settings, or you processed this way… again, doesn’t matter.
I expect there’s a term for the physical/optical phenomena where the liquid meets the asphalt “stones”. I guess that would be the old “capillary” action? Anyway, the highlights around those edges work beautifully.
Regarding the pole, or whatever it is. Yes, it works here and actually creates a little tenstion or divergence from the overall reflecting pool. The cloud (or whatever is reflecting" is vital here and it’s also great to have the warm/cool colors.
Two minor things for me. First, I would suggest either a slight crop off the right edge, or some CA fill/clone for the lighter, dry asphalt on that edge. Not a biggie, just a little inconsistent with the rest of the wet tar.
Then, my minor wish was for a little more room up top to match the little extra space around the reflecting liquid. No biggie.
Other than those 2 little things, this is awesome! Great eye and kudos for keeping an eye on the ground. Well done!
Thanks so much. Not much editing. I am using under exposure ideas these days. I shot this a little under exposed. Framed it where the sky cut through the dark asphalt. Almost 3D.
