**Critique Style:** Standard

The photographer is looking for thoughtful feedback on the image as a whole, especially around the areas noted below.

**Feedback Focus:** Artistic / Expressive

### About This Image

Had our first rain of the season yesterday, so seems like a good time to channel some clearing fog opportunities with this older image.

### Feedback Requested

All comments welcome!

Not a lot done in LR – contrast lowered a bit and the sunbeams enhanced a lot in PS.

Very nice @Diane_Miller

Very atmospheric, highlights well controlled, nice tonal range amongst the mist, nice rays.

Nothing here not to like… Lovely

Diane, I love this light/dark, not quite black and white image. The strong blacks have a graceful movement, while the light rays add mystery and atmosphere. Beautiful all around.

This is absolutely wonderful, Diane. I love the crepuscular rays shining through the fog and everything framed by those lovely branches. My only nit, and I had to dig for it, is the brighter area above and to the right of the sun as illustrated. I’d be tempted to tone that area down ever so slightly.

## Visual Notes

[A1] This area feels just a touch too bright. Almost likethere’s a second source of light.

Thanks, @Huw_Thomas , @alice and @Dennis_Plank ! Dennis, that area would be easy to tone down, and the brightest areas feel blown out. This is older processing and I should go back and look at a linear profile or some other remedy. The fog was breaking quickly and was ragged. As usual, I was a bit late to the show.

## Visual Notes

This is such an arresting image. The burst of sunlight in all directions is what makes it for me. But what if it came from one direction? Actually there are many good crops in this image. Great work.

[Crop] an experiment
