Thank you, David. I had just finished photographing the rock formations, folded up my gear and headed back to my camp. As I walked away, I took a quick glance over my shoulder and was treated to this unfolding drama. I posted another image previously that contained a lightning strike in the largest area of rainfall.

Never pack until it’s black! Boy have I ever learned that the hard way. Good job taking one last look. Dramatic as heck.

Thank you, Ms Smith. My first reaction was to make an iPhone image, which I did. When I noticed how this persisted I set up my “real camera.” I am adding the second image, with the lightning strike just for fun. You can see I didn’t move, but the storm did.
