Still milkin’ my Yosemite images from May. Of course Yosemite is a gold mine of opportunities and so yeah, I have a lot of images from that trip…
This is Ribbon Falls, which stands as the tallest, single-drop waterfall in North America. Yosemite Falls is taller, but has 3 different drops. Ribbon Falls gets less attention, but certainly is part of what makes up the “grandness” of Yosemite.
This was captured at the pullout in front of Bridal Veil falls. This was actually the spot where the majority of us first met at our now infamous get together.

I’m curious to learn if you “see” anything? I.e. a shape, figure, anything other than rock and a water fall.
How are the colors and processing? Not a whole lot done here. I did dodge the water a bit to help bring it out.

I love all the various tones in the granite and the sharp detail and texture in the granite as well. Unfortunately, look as I may, I do not “see” something else.
Ribbon Falls is a sleeper. The cascade is so far back in its alcove it is easy to miss. Lots of nice textire in the granite walls, and the light is quite nice. The scade looks just fine. Like @Youssef_Ismail, I don’t see any faces and such.
Lon, I’m thoroughly enjoying the color coordination between the rock walls and the water. Your shutter speed helps with the water flow and the “flow” of the rocks mimicing each other. I’m also not seeing any figure(s), but they aren’t needed here.
As far as the face, I kind of expected it’s not so obvious and really only “in the eye of the beholder” (accidental pun.) But what I see in the darker area on the upper left edge is basically an eye socket. It’s a stretch to say that the 3D outcropping on the rest of the left side is connected to the eye… but what came to me was the Crazy Horse memorial in the Bad Lands. A stretch maybe… but that’s what I see. It’ s my story and I’m sticking to it!

Thanks Preston. That’s one of the features that I like about this waterfall. It’s the outcroppings and it’s not just a flat rock face.
BTW folks, I didn’t mention, but this is basically the West buttress of El Capitan.
Sorry, but I am not noticing a face in the granite wall. I do have to say that I am loving the textures and details in the rock walls as well as the earth tones. I think your SS choice was perfect as it has created some lovely motion in the water. I also like those lines in the rock face in the ULC and the way they seem to be directing the viewer towards the waterfall. The processing looks great to me and I really have no suggestions for improvement. Beautifully done.
What I love here, Lon, is the texture of the granite. In the large version, it’s fascinating to let the eye wander and explore all the texture and intrigue. The falls, of course, make the image by adding in a focus and contrast interest. The combination of the two makes for a wonderful photo.
