The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.
Description
This was shot from my mandatory spot in the van while my son went out to collect insects on some rabbit brush on top of Mount Graham in SE Arizona. I’ve been hobbled by a foot issue and am not supposed to be walking around on it for a while. So I just opened the side door of the van and this nice Triscolia ardens wasp accomodated my need to take a few photos, along with some of its friends on the same bushes.
Specific Feedback
The yellow flowers were dense and pretty deep. Hope these are clean and clear enough to be interesting.

Ed, I am sorry to hear about your foot situation, but it looks like you took lemons and made lemonade. Such nice colors in this guy. I also like the flowers he is on. You did a fine job capturing these from your vehicle. Nice details where needed in this guy. On the first two shots, you might could crop just a bit off the right in the first image and a little off the left in the second just to uncenter the subject just a little. Really nice find and captures.
Another really nice series, Ed. The yellow flowers set the wasp off perfectly, and his red abdomen adds a lot of colour interest. The positions of the first 2, especially, are great. I agree with Shirley’s thoughts on small crops.
Nice catch, particularly since you couldn`t move much. Glad they came to YOU!
I hope your foot heals quickly -
Ed: I have little love for wasps but this is a handsome critter, set off so well by the yellow flowers. Nice to have an accommodating subject and congrats to you on some fine captures. Hope your foot heals swiftly and completely. >=))>
@Shirley_Freeman, @SandyR-B, and @Bill_Fach, I appreciate all of you a bunch. Thank you for your kind comments on this series, and thank you for your suggestions. I’m not sure I got the best crop on the second image here, but I think it is a better balance in the frame than the original was. It just cuts off the space in front of the wasp too much. I will go back to the original now and see if I can get more space in front of it.
You are welcome. Glad we could help. On the second shot, I was thinking to crop from the left on it a bit, and that would make it feel like you had more room on the right for him to “move”.
Thank you again @Shirley_Freeman. I’ll go back to the RAW file and see if I can find the right combination for that second image.
Thank you very much @Dennis_Plank.
And thank you Shirley and @Bill_Fach very much for the Editor’s Pick.
