About This Image

The camera was moving in a sort of figure eight. It took me about six tries to get what I had in mind. In the sky, I blended in a small amount of texture from an accompanying straight shot.

I like the light in this image a lot, Don, and it’s a fine composition. I admire your ability to figure out how something like this should be done. My feeble attempts at ICM are try something and hope there’s something worthwhile on the card.

I’m not the best guy to offer ICM suggestions, but I do really like your use of the golds here. It imparts an impression of fire sweeping through to my eye.

Another fascinating abstract Don. As mentioned, I’m loving the blue/gold/warm/cool colors herre.

The scene is somewhat recognizable as land or rock features, but plenty of abstractness to keep the mind engaged. I suppose with most abstracts, there is probably some alternate crops here, but I’m thinking this works quite well as presented.

Excellent abstract and work.

Dennis, John, Lon, thanks for the responses. I can certainly see why this one might make a viewer think of fire.

This works for me, Don, especially with the title. There is something about ICM of a landscape with residual clarity in it that always evokes a bit of unease or anxiety for me. Regardless of the colors, blue and gold, which should be kind of comforting, the image creates some discomfort. It’s like I’m camping in these rocks and decided it was a good time for therapeutic mushrooms or something.

It’s so fun to play with ICM. Did you see Stephanie Johnson’s webinar here? It was really insightful and inspiring.

Thanks, Marylynne. Your reaction is interesting. I find this one somewhat unsettling.

I missed that webinar. Most of what I think I know about ICM I learned from the training videos on Finding Your Vision, a site run by Valda Bailey and Doug Chinnery.
