Image Description

This is a single frame, composited with an edge mask of itself. Rotated to vertical orientation so that it looks like an upright tree (I could see that in the field). It is a horizontal snag in the river next to a bush. Shot with a Lensbaby Sweet 50.

Technical Details

Minor adjustments in ACR (noise, sharpening); most done in PS. Here’s the layer stack:

This one is almost weird enough for me, Bonnie.

Joking aside, I like it, even though I don’t know what to make of it. Viewing it simply as a composition, I find myself wanting to crop off some of the top, which might provide more balance.

I take your point about the crop. I think a 4x5 ratio would work better. Thanks.
