Insect-lovers, you know what’s happening, don’t you?
We can call this image very unique and shows the 360-degree field of view of a damselfly while presumably depositing an egg. I like the vertical symmetry of the abdomen and the sharply focused wings. I would clean up some of the lighter halos and maybe drop down the strength of the brighter portions of the image as my only suggestions. Other than that, very creative and unique…Jim
Mike, this is a very dramatic view of this damsel depositing her eggs. Being able to see that she has 360 degree vision is fun as well. I like how you’ve cut off her abdomen, that adds to the tension and surprise in this view. I like the overall brightness. Given the depth-of-field, the laws of optics tell me that this must be a very large crop.
Mike: How cool is this? A mind bending POV and honestly if Jim and Mark had not made the ID I’m not sure I would have had a clue. With their explanations though I can see clearly now (

Yes, @Jim_Zablotny @Mark_Seaver @Bill_Fach and @Glenys_Passier, the White Legged Damselfly is laying an egg on a leaf in the pond. If you look now at the broader view below, you can see the rest of the “best supporting actor”, the male (with white legs). Maybe he deserves some award for not even needing to flutter those wings!
