Great time of year with all the wildflowers in bloom.
Any thoughts/advice appreciated.

Hi Allen! This is a lovely Wild Rose portrait. I love the colors and lighting, and you’ve captured good detail as well. The background works well with this image. Well done!
Allen, I love the simple beauty of wild roses and this shows that off beautifully. You’ve got excellent detail in the flower against a gently supportive background.
Ooh this is lovely. It will be a while before they bloom here, but I’m always attracted to them. The focus point looks like a good one and the even spread of the petals adds some extra symmetry. I do wonder if the exposure values of the flower and the background are too far apart, as if they aren’t part of the same scene.
Allen: Really well done IMO. I see @Kris_Smith point about the exposure difference but for me that enhances the beauty of the rose and the BG complements instead of competes which I think it would do if it was lighter. A wonderful find and a superb capture. >=))>
Beautifully exposed, Allen - a triumph of deceptive simplicity. I like the border too; it really sets the photo off well.
I like the dark bg which shows off the flower well. The petal’s tectureand overall detail is excellent. I like this one as presented…Jim

Thanks, Diane. Best lens I’ve owned. It’s nice I can use it for something other than birds and I don’t have to fiddle with changing lenses.
I love the composition and the dark background. Nice work getting the plane of focus to match the size of the flower. Wild Roses are among my favorites and this is a very good representation!
