Hello, my name is Connie Herbert. I am a fine art photographer living in Burley, Idaho.  I have fond memories of my grandmother taking pictures of family gatherings and of her flowers.  I think that memory has influenced my journey in photography which began with the purchase of a 35 mm fixed lens film camera from a pawn shop in 1973.  I took a class in black and white photography and developing, but after moving did not have the resources to continue on that path.  My journey took me through a single lens reflex (SLR) film camera and on to a point and shoot digital camera. In 2012 I received my first digital SLR camera s a gift.  That is when my growth as a photographer really started to take develop through many classes and workshops.  I love looking for that special something in a scene that draws me to capture it an image.  I have become much more attuned to my surroundings as I scan my environment for the potential subjects of my next shot.
My goal is to share some of the wonders of our world through my images. These wonders may be in nature or created by man.  I like when an image causes one to catch their breath; then look closer a second or even third time.  I am interested in creating captivating images that range in subject matter from vast landscapes to birds and wildlife to intimate view of nature including macro shots.  I have found that the camera changes what and how I see the world around me and hope that you may find some of the same pleasure that I do in this world through my images.
