I am a retired high school photography teacher. My students all started with pinhole film and worked up to Linhof Technika studio 4x5’s and Deardorff 8x10 field cameras, shooting zone only images. Next they moved into alternative processes of albumen, salt, van Dyke and Pl/Pd. Last, they learned digital and Photoshop. I’ve been shooting since 1959 when my uncle brought me a 35mm SLR Canonflex from Japan. I still have it and it still works, I think sometimes better than me. I have no set genre that I lean toward, though admittedly lean heavily into birds.
