I am a nature and landscape photographer who adores the wilderness, old-growth forests, and the desert southwest. I retired 2 years ago from a 37-year career as a middle school and high school English teacher. I also spent 20 seasons as a wildland firefighter, including the last 5 as a smokejumper in McCall, Idaho. My master’s degree is in Fire Science and I taught the Wildland Field Training program at Butte Junior College. Five years ago, I went full-time as a nature photographer. My gallery is online and I have done 17 juried art shows in the last 2 years. I truly enjoy the storytelling part of art shows. I’m also a member of Nature First and Cal Trout. I practice and preach Leave No Trace and Leave It Better outdoor ethics.
