Short biography

As a young teenager, I thought about taking pictures of birds in the meadow. It was harder as I thought. Later it also appeared that I had no patience for that. My area of focus shifted to travel photography in a general sense. One day a good acquaintance, who had a graphic office, comes to visit and saw some pictures of me. He suggested to do something more with my photography in a commercial sense. From one thing to another I became a full-time travel photographer, worked for KLM magazines and other travel magazines.
It was quite a fast world all that traveling. Around 2010 I threw in the towel, due to insufficient returns. Magazines went bankrupt, advertising income went to a low point.
Even stopped photographing for a few years, found it no longer challenging and fun.
Eventually I felt like taking pictures again, became a member of the local photo club, and a little later also a member of the national Olympus Camera Club.
These days my interest lies more with landscape photography, it gives me peace and relaxation, can be present for hours at a place to enjoy it. And that is how peace and enjoyment of what the earth has to offer you. Regardless of the weather and light, that is beyond your control, luckily. Not everything has to be planned in your life.
