My name is Kris Wyman & I’m a photographer from western Massachusetts. I started shooting in the early 2000’s when “digicams” first became available to the public. I used point & shoot equipment & read voraciously about all things photography back then. I developed a “good eye” & constantly worked on compositions, always seeing the world through a photograph. I got my first interchangeable lens camera in 2015 which was an Olympus with m43 sensor. I quickly learned about the limitations of that sensor for the kinds of photos I wanted to make & started shooting a Nikon D750. In 2018, I picked up a D850 which is more than adequate for what I do. I’ve shot a few portrait sessions & a couple of weddings but I much prefer to be photographing out in nature. For most of the las 20 years, I’ve been zipping around local forests on a mountain bike but starting last year, I’ve been hiking a lot & also doing a bit of paddling in a kayak. These activities have slowed me down a lot in nature & I’m loving this slow down as it allows me to practice photography.
