Born in the fishing village of Scheveningen, Holland I have a passion for the coast.
The vastness: the always rapidly changing circumstances make it extremely attractive to me.
The Netherlands has no spectacular rocky coasts, cliffs or mountains, but it does have another asset…the beautiful light.
I try to capture that light and bend it to my will.
For me, photography is a game between time and light with the motto “less is more”.
With my coastal photos I look for tranquility and emptiness as a counterpart to the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
For me, a photo is not a copy of reality.
I create my own reality.
