I live a stone’s throw from Quetico Provincial Park in Northwestern Ontario. After a long hiatus (remember Kodachrome?) I’ve picked-up a camera again and set-out to make pictures. I’ve done this mostly because my outdoor adventures tend to be “go, setup camp, sleep, repeat”. Outdoor photography forces me to slow down and look around. To the degree that others may look at my pictures, I’d like them to see what I see when I’m in the bush. When one sees a beautiful tree, or a pattern of fallen leaves, one is able to separate that pattern from the noise in the background. But a camera left to its own devices sees everything equally, and tends to create a cluttered mess. My goal is to pull out those patterns and treasures from the background with composition and lighting.
