I became enamored with photography 35 years ago when, like many others, I witnessed the revealing of black and white tones in the red safelight of the darkroom. For the past 30 years I’ve worked professionally as an architectural and interior photographer. During those years retreating to the landscape with black and white film has remained my passion and most effective pathway to recharge the creative soul.
At this point in my career I am embarking on dedicating more time and energy to pursue the marketing of my black and white photographic work. While the commercial work has evolved to digital platforms I continue to embrace film as the medium to capture the landscape but combine that with scanning and producing prints via ink jet printers.
While I greatly appreciate beauty in all forms and have been fortunate to photograph countless structures designed and built by man that meet that criteria, I believe the beauty created in nature is unmatched. I enjoy the search for the elements of light, form and juxtaposition that align to produce a singular image that illustrates how I envision a particular scene. My ultimate goal is to create an image that viewers can respond to and appreciate in a manner that is personal to them, as the images I create are to myself.
