Chuck Kimmerle began his photography career as a newspaper photojournalist where he was part of a small staff nominated for a 1998 Pulitzer Prize in Photography. It was an experience which has deeply influenced how he approaches his landscape work. Subsequent to that he worked as the lead photographer at a large university, and taught both film and digital photography at a small college.
Chuck has had solo exhibits at the North Dakota Museum of Art, The Nicolaysen Art Museum (Wyoming), The Dahl Fine Arts Center (South Dakota), and the Ft. Collins Museum of Art (Colorado), among others. He and his work have been featured in numerous magazine around the world including England, Australia, New Zealand, Italy, and the Middle East.
He currently resides in central California where his wife is superintendent of Manzanar National Historic Site.
