In the early 1970s I was very fortunate to have spent some valuable time with the legendary photographer, Paul Caponigro. It was not only Paul’s images but also his attitude toward his work that inspired me. Viewing the books of Edward and Brett Weston, and Ansel Adams kindled my love for photographs in nature. The unique vision displayed in Lee Friedlander’s “Western Landscapes” and the “The Desert Seen” facilitates seeing nature with a fresh eye.
For anyone interested in making the most of their photography experience, there is no better source than Guy Tal’s books: “More than a Rock” and “The Landscaper’s Guide to Photoshop”. Guy is a special voice in the photography community who prioritizes the experiential aspect of image-making. Must reads!
I am retired and live in New Hampshire with my wife Bonney and our cat “Toast”.
