Howdy! I’m a semi-retired hobbyist living and shooting primarily in the Desert Southwest. I alternate regularly throughout the year between Tucson, AZ and Kanab, UT. I have dabbled in nature and landscape photography off and on for the past 35 years; most definitely ON since moving to Asheville, NC in 2009.

I don’t have any particular area of interest, although I do lean more toward intimate landscapes and abstract details than grand scenics. My most frequently used lens is the Nikon 80-400 on the D850, which I alternate with either a 16-35 or 24-70 on a D780. Most of my images are made while hiking public lands, and sometimes while mountain biking. I wear the two camera/lens combos on hip-holsters for freedom of movement and easy switching.

Other interests are avid reading (fiction) and craft beer. I have visited over 1000 breweries, at least one in each of the 48 continental US states and a few overseas. Only Alaska and Hawaii to go!
