I am a retired scientist with a passion for nature and photography. Originally from Italy, I have lived in the US for more than 30 years, and I am currently based in Seattle, WA. When I purchased my first digital camera in 2005, I made the switch from making snapshots to create more intentional images, learning and growing my skills on the way. I took an online basic course from the NY Institute of Photography early on, which I stopped following when it came to the sections on fashion photography and photojournalism, topics far from my interests. Photography has been a way for me to recharge from my demanding work as a cancer biologist. Stressful periods would find me in a local park or garden with camera in hand to regain my balance. My early images were mostly about flowers, but they also featured local landscapes, which , however, gravitated towards small scenes and nature details. The interest in small details stems from my profession that taught me how to reduce complex problems to their fundamental units to begin to understand them. So, when I go around, the world presents to me in its details, and this is the vision you find in my images. I am excited to share my passion with like-minded people and look forward to the interactions.
