Hello! I’m a fine-art photographer and writer based in north-central Indiana. A former darkroom student turned digital minimalist, I blend technical precision with an instinct for quiet, emotional storytelling. After decades away from photography, I returned with a new Nikon D850 in hand and a renewed love for the natural world.
My work explores the intersection of stillness and resilience. I strive to capture ordinary subjects such as flowers, fungi, and found light with patience, restraint, and a deliberate nod to my film roots. I prefer natural light and subtle underexposure, using tone and texture to draw viewers closer rather than overwhelm them.
My photographs and essays live under my creative banner, Feral and Functioning, a reflection of my belief that beauty and imperfection coexist exquisitely. I approach every image deliberately, proof that truth, even in small moments, can be both feral and functioning.
