My photographic journey began in the late 60’s during the two years I was assigned to an engineering crew that traveled the vast Alaskan territory in direct support to the USAF Dew Line stations.
Upon my return to the lower 48 and specifically the So Cal area I picked up where I left off with regard to competitive drag racing. During my non working hours I spent 20+ years on the very competitive Division 7 NHRA Drag Racing circuit.
After the sale of my last race car I was looking for an activity to fill my off duty hours and ventured back into the world of photography. At first it was all wildlife images with long lens 35mm gear. Ultimately I made the move to landscape work with the use of MF & LF gear that I still use to this day. I’m classified as a dinosaur in the photographic world as I still use film exclusively. However, it is just my personal style and I enjoy the challenges with the older hardware.
