About This Image

This image was taken off Firehole Lake Road in Yellowstone National Park. The steam is from hot water evaporation as it drains from Firehole Lake into Hot Lake. The heat is of course from thermal activity in the area.

Jonathan, It certainly fits the title, but probably not the detailed description, so I won’t say it’s not appropriate. This is an interesting take on this spot where you’ve captured the hot mist well. Even though this look to be late in the day, the colors seem too strong to me, especially with how yellow the brightest parts of the sky are and how much magenta is in the mist.
