About This Image

A common bird in the higher elevations of central Oregon. And, one of the cutest and friendliest birds as well. They are totally acclimated to people; I guess they see us as food sources. I have one photo of a couple of them landing on my wife’s outstretched arms (and no, we weren’t feeding them). These were taken while we were eating lunch at Elk Lake, along the Cascade Lakes Highway.-once we stopped eating, they were not as plentiful.

They are moochers alright. I was backpacking into a lake with a friend who took along a dog and they’d go for the kibble like crazy. Somewhere on film is a photo of one between my feet.
These are both gorgeous images in completely different settings and poses, Allen. I like them both and won’t even try to choose a favorite. Very well done in both cases.

Allen, both images are wonderful, but the first one is superb! It really sings!

What a beautiful bird!

Excellent depth of field in this one. The separation between the background and the image of the bird is just really done well. I think your black line frame is quite appropriate. Any relation to the Canada geese?

I’ve always known them as Camp Robbers. Both are wonderful images, but I really like the first.

Hi Allen, both beautiful images. Really love the setting in the first. The second is quite nice too with the interesting perch and complimentary background.
