The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

I was looking through the rare snowstorms we get for weekly challenge images and noticed this one which I don’t believe I ever posted and the pose and breeding condition plumage really appealed to me.

Specific Feedback

I’m pretty satisfied with this image as it is, but I’ve seen too many times when I’ve missed something obvious, so I’m interested in any suggestions you might have.

Yes, I think they do need some shining. Actually, I like this image. It’s a little bit of humor in the title. It kind of looks like a starlling. Add the snow is perfect for the background.

So did you actually get some snow at your place?

Hi David: This was taken February of 2021 and we did have snow then. And, yes, it’s a Starling in breeding plumage.

Starlings in winter or basic plumage are photo-worthy for sure. Most of the light spots wear down and other feathers are replaced with iridescent black before the breeding season begins. Its a very busy comp, but you have snow. I like the pose which fits the title and the starling looks quite dapper in its fine wibnter garb!..Jim

While pesky, these birds are quite photogenic. Nice iridescence captured on the feathers and an interesting pose. The snow adds a lot too.
