FINALLY !

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

I have a lot of coot images
(or “scoots” as my little nephew called them when he was small) but
they are all butt shots, running AWAY.
Actually, I have a whole file of butt shots - waiting for that WC topic… (hint, hint..)

FINALLY, one that is not!!

Nice one Sandy! Love the water splashes and the wonderful look he/she has given you. That’s priceless. Colours look good.

I wonder if there is another version without the water splash in front of the bird? and, cropped again from the RHS?

Nice job, Sandy. I don’t think I have any coot take-off shots where they weren’t going away either (except possibly one silhouette I can think of, and I’m not sure of the angle in it). I could see cropping out the last partial splash on the right and at least part of the one on the left for a more classic presentation, but this works well for my taste.

Very nice look at the coot with nice wing position. Good action.

Terrific seeing the running on water that these guys do. The splashes behind are great. Fine details on the bird. Nice catch!
