About This Image

What I remember most about this image is that I woke up to late and was scrambling to the peak to catch first. Realizing I wasn’t going to make it I stopped part way and used the light glancing off the small stones at my feet. It’s an easy place to get to so I plan to go back and work on the idea some more.

Feedback Requested

I’m wondering whether the mood or feeling I was aiming for comes through.

I’d appreciate feedback on the composition — whether the balance, framing, or spacing is working.

Mostly I wanted to offset the view with the rocks in the darkness. Any suggestions on that account would be helpful.

Igor, I like the composition and everything else. It’s a fine image. Sometimes your photos have a look that tells me it’s one of yours.

I’m not sure what you mean by offsetting the view with the rocks in darkness.

It’s a wonderful image. Downloaded and viewed full size looks really great. Lovely lights on the shore enhance the curvy leading line that is emerging from the dark water. I like your composition, it’s well balanced and the distant layers add depth which is closed by the farthest of them. There’s nothing I would change.

Simple and elegant. Nothing complicated. Beautiful light colors and balanced composition imho. Not quite sure what you mean by offsetting the view.

Fascinating to read what the actual story was behind the photograph. When I viewed this my overall impression was the peace that the morning brings, and how much I would love to be sitting with this view and enjoying a warm cup of coffee. I think the beautiful colors, including the sky, and the fairly tranquil water add to that feel.
