Too dark?

Too dark in the Hoh Rainforest? Never. I like it and it feels appropriate for lush greens in dappled light. I might be into crop som off the top to simplify it. Something like this quick screenshot:

Your archives are fantastic!

It should be dark for a rainforest, Igor, so no problem there. I like the original and have spent a lot of time looking at it. The only thing I could think of changing is to add a hint more light to the ferns on the lower right side.

Hey, Igor. The only think I might do is dodge the LRC ferns a little. Nice work.

Igor, the image certainly is well exposed for the rainforst to my eye. I appreciate the lush greens conveying the specific atmosphere, and the two bright spots in the water working as focal points to keep the attention within the frame.

I just think about the blurred details within the lower bright spot of the water - maybe a bit more sharpness would be desireable in my opinion. But this is only a minor matter for me, I enjoy the image as presented.

Hi Igor,
The lush greens of the maple leaves and ferns are quite nice and as far as being too dark the only area I could see bring up would be those ferns along the right side. I do like the rework by @Marylynne_Diggs because those bright reflections in the water along the top edge do catch my eye a little. Glad you posted another ‘blast from the past’.

They’re meant to.

Head toward the light!!! I absolutely love the bright rippled spot in the upper middle of this scene. In fact, without that I don’t the scene works nearly as well as it does. My eye immediately goes there and it’s the first thing I noticed and it makes me want head through the image and towards the light. The complexity of the scene is not a deterrent at all and I love the greens that you’ve showcased here. I think they are perfect for the HOH! As to your question, Too Dark, not at all. This is what it should look like. Well processed. Mostly though, I want to explore into the depth of this scene and “Head toward the light” to see what mysteries lay beyond.
