There is a great deal of tonal richness in this image and in that sense this is a really beautiful image. However, a lot of compositional rules have been broken here. I don’t know your level of expertise in photography and therefore whether these rules were purposely broken. I haven’t read this book but it is well regarded. I learned composition from a Freeman Patterson book in the 80s but there is far more available now.
