About This Image
This is from the FL workshop, and the Limpkin was photographed at a local park. I like the sharp head and soft body of this photograph.

I do also, Peter. The foreground vegetation added a nice feel to the body of the bird. Very well done.
Nice portrait, Peter. There’s a pleasing sense to the image, which I think is due to the softness of the background.
Peter,
I love the head/bill portrait against the soft background and greenery.
As Dennis eludes, I’m assuming the softness at the bottom is a result of shooting through vegetation? For me, the first impression is that the soft area is due to vegetation, but something else. My suggestion might be to actually brush over that with some green or yellow tint to make it seem like shooting through some greenery. Much like folks do with “cramming” with flowers. I think it’s the lack of color near the bottom makes it just appear a little muddy. But that’s just me.
