About This Image

Once a month or so, I drive by this alder-filled ravine a half mile from home, sometimes thinking that the alder stems are potentially photogenic. A week ago I noticed the vine maples at the bottom of the ravine. Went back as the fog was clearing the next morning and found lots of compositions like this one.

Dos this image invite you to enjoy and explore the scene?

I had a lot of options for cropping and saturation, but this version attempts to convey the feeling of discovering this place and time. I tried to desaturate the more distant parts of the scene, but let the brightness of the glary sky play a role.
