About This Image

after a lot of rain there is always foam moving slowly on my local swimming hole. Taken this november. Mostly the patterns look quite static so I picked one where I thought the movement was implied.

Feedback Requested

Any feedback welcome. I didnt pick this one for technical perfection but more about the sense of movement. I’d like to know if you get that sense from it. All improvement suggestions welcome too.

Hi Michael,

I like the tighter crop in your reply, Now that I have commented, you should be able to add revisions using that button.

This crop reveals that leaf as part of the composition.
Nicely done,

ML

I like the sense of flow in this image, Michael. In the original post, my eye was getting stalled a bit in that lower right corner, but your crop solved that and I do prefer that composition. Before I saw the crop, I started playing with your original because i really did like that long flow line. I just brightened the bubble patches that formed it to give it a bit more weight in the image. I’ll post it here to see how you like the idea.

Michael, I like the mix of stationary foam and the good sense of motion just above the rock. Your cropped does a good job of focusing attention in the upper part of the frame, using the leaf bits as framing elements along the bottom.

Thankyou Marylynne. The revision button has indeed appeared. I like the crop too. The original felt like there was too much going on in the lower half and taking attention from the sense of flow.

Thanks Dennis. I like the brightening. I think I prefer the cropped version ,but this seems to work as well. And Ill try it on the cropped version.
