Description: I was inspired by @Ed_McGuirk Meadow Magic post to post this image I took the same morning as Ed made his. We frequently have the same weather and this, the same fog! The light on the point was so concentrated yet subdued that I stayed to try to capture it…not easy in a row boat with no tripod. A peaceful morning in any event.
Specific Feedback Requested: Composition and processing. Is there too much negative space to the right. I thought it was needed for balance and add to the mood with fog. Wonder if I could have shot this at f/11 or so and cut down the noise. I did run this through Denoise AI.
Pertinent technical details or techniques: 200mm f/22 1/20 sec iso 400
Is this a composite? (focus stacks or exposure blends are not considered composites)

This is a very tranquil scene, Mario, and I think the simple composition adds to that. There is a nice amount of separation between the main tree and the background, and I love the reflections in the water.
I think a bit of a crop off the right helps. I have attached an edit showing what I thought worked. I have also cloned the closer leaves hanging into the top edge of the frame. The last thing is the left side feels very dark to me. Maybe that could be brightened up some?
I like the space on the right as you have it. If you added more, however, it would be too much. The negative space creates visual tension in a good way. It doesn’t feel unbalanced because the trees may be far left but the bright part of the tree is closer to the center. It is a pretty dark scene that doesn’t make me think of fog as much as very late in the day. I find it very beautiful. The darkness lends it a sense of mystery but the lighting is quite beautiful coming in from the side as it does. In fact, as I studied your images I noticed that lighting is what you concentrate the most in most of them. This one is no exception.
This is a beautiful image with a wonderful feel. I love what the fog adds and really like it with the space on the right as you have it. Quite enjoy looking at this!
I prefer it as presented. The light is wonderful. A very tranquil scene that holds my attention for quite a long time. Lots to see. Very beautiful. There appears to be something that might be man made just at the tip of the land under the overhanging grass. Could be my imagination running a little wild.
I can’t stop pulling this image up! I have little to add other than my response is one of dark tension and mystery. Some of the darks are really dark and I suspect that is by design, but does create some foreboding discomfort if that makes any sense.
Great shot Mario. I like the composition exactly as you presented it, I think you have the perfect amount of space to the right. I also like how half of the tree is in shade, and half in light, which increases the moodiness factor substantially.
I think the images works very well as presented. But as a matter of subjective personal taste, I could see the lighter tones being brightened a bit, to add some mare sparkle here. I used a TK Lights 2 mask on a curves layer, and pulled the curve up a bit.
Mario, I love the way you feel, take and communicate delicious corner of the nature. Also for this reason I like the image as it is. Because the background is out of focus I think that you may have used a wider stop.
A wonderful capture, Mario. Beautiful and moody. I like your composition very much and love the gentle light. I think it might even be a little too gentle on the lighter leaves and grass. I played with it a bit and dodged the brightest leaves and grass a tiny bit.
