This is an image from the the west part of Terceira, Azores. The abundance of vegetation was amazing.

Wonderful composition, Peter. I am most drawn to the variety of greens in this image. Some are dark and some take on a yellow appearance but it is frame filling fantastic. I am also drawn, in a good way, to that dead plant in the upper right section of the image. I like the structure of the branches and the bleaching of color. Some of the tops of the leaves are a little bit bright. I don’t think they are blown out but they hold less color than they might otherwise if you reduced the highlights just a tiny bit on some of them. But then again, maybe not as I am drawn to the highlights. I can see why you were focussed on this scene. It’s quite lovely.

I’m really enjoying and I appreciate how much you have filled the frame with all the trees and vegetation.
I think your technicals are just right - but of course personal preference comes in to play when you’re talking about color and saturation… I’m one who will push the saturation just to the point where it still is believable. Again a a personal choice. Your choice is certainly a reasonable choice.
I’m not sure if this will make sense, but I’m imagining this scene where the lime-green, smaller vegetation if actually reversed with the cooler cluster of trees. In other words, have a central, single cluster of tree in the center, surrounded by the more limey hue of smaller vegetation… I know that’s a fantasy, but something that crossed my mind.
Ultimately, I think you made an excellent choice in isolating this scene from the broader view.
What attracted me to this image is the ‘volume’ of the trees. They seem to come forward from the image plane. I think that’s due to very favorable light quality and its direction.
