While hiking this scene presented itself as a morning light highlighted the sapling that was standing in front of the mature pine. It gave me a feeling of time and age with the new sapling.

Steve, this is a great image to represent something that could be easily over looked. I’m glad you saw it and captured the image. What are the" little guys" odds. I like the side light on the main tree and the little guy.

Steve, the scrawny young pine against the much older tree trunk tells a fine story. I also like how many twists there are in the youngster’s “trunk” and that there are no side branches, yet. I do think that a bit of burning-in of the needles would let the greens show better.
Steve: What @Igor_Doncov said. I especially like the light and the shadow details. On a completely administrative note, it’s usually not a good idea to post full size images. Site recommendation is for images 2000 pixels on the long side and <3MB in size. Posting full size images often triggers automatic site downsizing with a subsequent loss of quality. It also looks like you’ve been away for a while so welcome back and thanks for a compelling image.>=))>
