Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

That hill is the back side of Tis-sa-ack (Half Dome). Approximately 100x 30-second exposures over 50 minutes. At that point, because it was the first weekend in November 2019, temperatures were approaching freezing and I just wanted to curl up in my sleeping bag.

My Xmas gift to myself that year was a large print, something like 30 x 40 inches. It hangs above the couch in my living room.

Technical Details

30-second exposures, ISO 16000, f/16. Combined using StarStaX.

Very cool!! And great noise reduction! I like the gradient in the sky and the way the trees and Half Dome fill the lighter part of the sky.

Thanks Diane! IIRC the low noise is just the quality of the a7’s sensor, no noise reduction applied in post-processing.
