What changed: Thank you for the sound advice. It took some finetuning, but this is what I could combine from the different exposures and from a precise selection of the plane. All advice welcome.

Yesterday, I attended the eclipse festival in the North of Spain. At least that was the overall feeling. Lots of happy, cheering and clapping people. Of course, my camera was with me. To my surprise, in one of the pictures, a plane looked as if it was going to fly in the moon and the sun altogether. I did not see it there, of course. There were too many things to look at.

I wonder if I can make the plane more conspicuous through the combination of the pictures I took with different shutter speeds of the corona. Any advice on how to do that would be very welcome. This is only the one picture of that moment.

I would not have a clue as to how to make the aircraft more conspicuous. One thing I noticed in your image is the rather large solar prominence just above the plane. The corona has a lot of nice detail and its color is excellent.

Wow! Fantastic!! I assume you will be stacking all the corona exposures and making a composite to show much more corona detail. You should be able to put this one on top of the assembled composite and select the small area around the plane. Clip a curves to it and boost the contrast so the area around the plane is lighter than the assembled corona there, and put the layer in Darken mode and the plane will show.
If there is noise after stacking (maybe not at ISO 200) it could be good to denoise each exposure before stacking. I’d love to see your composite, even if including the plane doesn’t work.
Wow, what a catch. I can’t beat @Diane_Miller 's suggestions, but I’d love to see the results if you play with that. Maybe a tighter crop would make it a bit easier to see?
Wonderful!! The corona is different in every eclipse, due to fluctuations in the sun’s magnetic field. Your result here matches the others I have seen.

This is a very nice portrayal of the high dynamic range of the corona, in line with other high-end images that have been posted on the web.
I’m sorry it took me so long to see this! I love the way you’ve brought out the corona in the edits and the airplane adds crazy depth to the image. I shot the 2017 eclipse and had no idea I had so much of the corona in the image. Really nice image you have here!
