About This Image
Ed and I were perched precariously on slippery rocks feet from the edge of the 600 foot deep gorge, in the pouring rain when I took this picture. We always try to time our visits to coincide with rain events to get the proper conditions. Heading there tomorrow hopefully..

Technical Details
Nikon D200, antique 10 mp dslr, which I still love for it’s color rendition. Suits my needs. When I need more mp to print, I just use Topaz to upscale. 170mm, 1/10 @ f/16, iso 200
Lots of dehaze in LR, radial filter to accentuate the opposite valley side where the sun had broken through the clouds and spotlighted the hillside
Gorgeous! I would love to have some weather here in the Sierra Foothills–it was 90 degrees on Friday. Given that, I find this to be soothing, but also dramatic.
As usual, your composition is spot-on, as are the colors and tonality. There is a bright spot in the mist near the top that catches my eye, but that is minor.
Lovely image. You were also blessed with some good light. I like the level of color saturation you used here. The partial sunlight in some areas and not in others works well, especially in how the mist is brighter on the left than below. Had the mist been the same brightness throughout the image would have been weaker. Just a really fine image. One to be proud of.
Drop-dead gorgeous!! And so aptly names! The mist has just the right weight and variable translucence. Excellent processing to bring that out! I love the way the mist cradles the spot of light on the left. No nits!!
Fantastic Michael. I love the washes of fog and the fall color. The Appalachian ridges and valleys just an allusion beneath the foliage add greatly to the interest. Nicely done,
