About the Webinar

When you’re taking shots of wildlife, it’s very easy to end up with ‘record shots’ rather than ‘printables’ - in other words, pictures that you’d be happy to print and hang on your wall. So what makes the difference? In this webinar, Nick Dale suggests a few alternative techniques to make your images stand out from the herd!

About the Presenter

Nick dreamed of becoming a photographer when he was 15, but his mother wanted him to go to Oxford instead!

He ended up reading English at Christ Church and working as a strategy consultant for a few years before retiring at the age of 29. He then traveled round the world for seven years, doing four ski seasons and working on an internet start-up in San Francisco before finally returning to London in 2005.

At that point, consulting work felt too stressful, so he decided to go ‘quality of life’. He’s now a private tutor and international award-winning wildlife photographer.

He became a tutor in 2009 when he happened to read an article in the paper entitled ‘Ten Ways to Beat the Recession’, and he started taking pictures again when he received a random email inviting him to go on safari and climb Mount Kenya.

He’s been a professional wildlife photographer since 2013, visiting 36 countries on all seven continents and winning various awards including the Sunday Times/Audley Travel Big Shot.

He writes books and articles for Expert Photography and Camera Reviews, and he teaches photography and leads workshops locally. He also gives lectures to camera clubs and various other organizations.

He spends a lot of time in Africa, and he’s been on over 350 game drives and boat rides. He’s also worked as the Resident Photographer on a cruise ship and at various safari lodges.
