Self Critique
I often try to select a composition that leads the viewer to explore the frame and discover the image over time. There is some motion blur that I think enhances the atmospheric and luminosity of the scene. The color is intended to be jewel-like and lead the viewer into a dream of dimensions.
Creative direction
I want to inspire anticipation of something wonderful just outside the frame, and lead the viewer through at least 4 centers of interest in the frame.
Specific Feedback
I am interested if others respond to the color and luminosity in the scene as I do, and if the composition is as dynamic and balanced as I feel it is.

Description
This view is from an easily accesible viewing platform in Alishan National Forest Recreation Area, Taiwan. I was scanning the area while photographing sunset, looking for compositions. I did not linger over it, and did not process it for almost two years. It is an attempt to create a field of color and form that leads the eye around the image.

This is outstanding! It almost looks like a painting, with such gorgeous light, atmosphere and the complementary colors in warm and cool hues. The composition is spot on. In the larger version the foliage on the right looks a little bit muddy, as if they are blending together, which I often see when too much saturation is added. But, in this example, the colors don’t look overly saturated so I’m not sure what’s going on (or if my tired eyes are playing tricks on me). Love this one, @Bill_Gibson!
The entire image is soft, from shutter time in wind, the focus point, and probably the aperture. I’ll try reducing the saturation levels on the right, but I think I’m dealing with differences in display calibration, etc. This will help as I try to get a good print!
Bill: I think this is a striking image with all the disparate elements and the broad spectrum color palette. The tree is the main attraction for me and I really like how you’ve rendered it. very nicely conceived, captured and presented. >=))>
A very different sort of image that grabs my attention! It is reminiscent of a fairy land. I don’t really notice any softness and colors and tonalities look fine. I do wonder about the darkness of the upper right – if it might be a little less strong. It would be interesting to see it balanced by a dark gradient from the lower left, which might give the tree a bit more of a base.
Wonderful image in any case! It should make a lovely print.
The light is extremely gorgeous here. The Foreground tree Is beautifully lit. The warm light on the mountain helps guide the eye up through the image. It looks like a painting. Great composition.
