Another from Tim's Pond

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

This is Ponderosa Pine bark on the base of a tree trunk. I noticed it because someone or something had been damaging the bark above it causing some to fall onto the ground. It was a dark day and the color also drew me to it.

Specific Feedback

It wasn’t tack sharp, but I liked the pattern and color so much I added texture.

Very cool shapes and colors here, Jim. The texture made it seem like sandstone until I read your description. Well thought out and executed.

Thanks, Dennis. My wife asked if this was of some stones.

Beautiful colors, Jim. Pine bark can be a fascinating subject.

Jim, this is well seen and presented. The variety of colors and shapes stand out. You’re texturing adds a good touch of mystery as it does feel like it might be a rock formation.
