Description
This is Ponderosa Pine bark on the base of a tree trunk. I noticed it because someone or something had been damaging the bark above it causing some to fall onto the ground. It was a dark day and the color also drew me to it.
Specific Feedback
It wasn’t tack sharp, but I liked the pattern and color so much I added texture.

Jim, this is well seen and presented. The variety of colors and shapes stand out. You’re texturing adds a good touch of mystery as it does feel like it might be a rock formation.
I love the bark of ponderosa pines Jim. This is a cool rendition of the slough pile with nice texturizing. It truly looks like sandstone. It had me scratching my head for a bit.
Ed, Thanks. Thanks. I’ve been scratching my head trying to figure out what this area of the bark is called, and you just reminded me: “slough pile.” Thanks.
