Asiatic Lion

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

Not really crouching but at rest.
It’s strange that I happened to photograph Asiatic Lion for the first time, last month.

Specific Feedback

This was the lowest angle, I could get from the vehicle.

Technical Details

Canon R 5; Rf 100-500 mm; ISO 5000; 1/800 sec. at f 9.

What a terrific pose. Cats are cats no matter the size or species. They all do things the same way. This is a young male, right? He looks like he’s too on edge to really relax. I love the paws and how they’re all visible (although I’d move your watermark to another spot). It looks low enough to me which helps show those developing shoulders and the dark stripe down the spine. What a predator. There’s such light and intelligence in those eyes. Great job.

A great shot Jagdeep. The mainly brown/beige colour pallet does it for me, with the lion nicely lit and standing out from the background.
The pose with the lazy look is also a winner.

This lion looks totally relaxed, in spite of you and your vehicle. I like your composition and how the lion’s brightness stands out from the surroundings.

Lovely , as usual, Jagdeep - your subject stands out very well - I’m envious!
