At the Fair

I was at a small county fair a couple of weeks ago and happened to time it when the eight year old 4-H group was doing their “halter class” show. I was encouraged to photograph it and it was a pleasure. The kids were a bit nervous, but they were also having a great time.

Pertinent technical details or techniques:

7DII, 70-200 mm f/4L @ 200 mm, hand held, f/8, 1/1250, iso 2000, manual exposure. Processed in LR & PS CC. Part of an orange cone cloned out. While it was overcast, I was shooting to the east, so I had to make some fairly substantial exposure adjustments to the youngster and a bit to the horse.

Cute photo. It works nicely into the challenge.

A fine photo Dennis, with the youngster showing a good mix of proud, excited and nervous.

Excellent photo, such great expressions on the horse and the child. Nice to see this on the Weekly Challenge!
