Autumn Willow Tree

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

This is a small group of willow trees near my house. They have stubbornly stayed green while the trees around them have turned. Today I noticed they have changed color, and there was a trunk visible in the middle providing some contrast and definition. I had a few minutes before sunset when the warm light highlighted the leaves before a near by hill cast a shadow on them. Another day or two, and the leaves will be gone. Fall is a very fleeting time of the year.

Specific Feedback

I’m looking for feedback and opinions on the composition mostly, but ant feedback is appreciated.

Technical Details

Fujifilm X-T5 and Fujifilm 100-400mm zoom at about 350mm
f8 1/100 ISO 400

This has a wonderful abstract quality to it Bob. I agree about what the trunk is bringing to the image, nicely seen. It’s a personal preference, so take it for what it’s worth, but I often prefer slightly shorter aspect ratios for verticals. I like a 5x7 that removes a small amount from the bottom.
