Rahul: A very peaceful scene and a place I would like to see in person. For me the FG flower is really dominant due to it’s size and it’s white which commands attention. I tend to get stuck there. There’s also a small lack of detail in the flowers, perhaps because of the small size of the image. Site guidelines recommend 2000 pixels on the long side and your image is only at 1080x1080. If you’re trying to lead the viewer through the frame a slightly higher camera position giving you a bit more middle ground would suit me better and finally the mountains seem just a touch soft. A bit more DOF or a stack could solve that or go shallow DOF and render the BG intentionally soft. Just my 2¢ but certainly a scene worthy of effort. >=))>
What I see is a nice set of foreground flowers well focused and exposed filling the bottom half of the image, Above and beyond this is a lovely alpine valley with snow covered peaks beyond in the far distance.
Because the composition concentrates the whole bottom half on the foreground flowers, without any leading lines to take you beyond, the viewers eye has difficult getting past this to pay attention to the scene beyond - but the valley looks idyllic .
The square crop and symmetrical composition really does nothing to encourage the viewer to leap over the foreground a dive deeper into the image.
If there had been a path through the foreground it could have led the eye through to the background.
I have played with your image - here is one that is more about the valley and mountains
Rahul, I like the image as presented. I’m reminded of hikes I’ve been on . I feel as if I’ve just come over a rise into this field of flowers and then beyond is the valley and mountains. My eye is drawn to the distant peak, not so much the flowers. In fact, I can get the sense of a path between the left and right flowers leading into the valley and then up to the peak.
Rahul, I like the classic near/far composition and the idylic scene. A few things: the fg white flowers seems to be overexposed and their brightness seems to block me from entering further into the image. I feel you missed the focus completely. Doesn’t seem to be a dof issue. With an 11mm lens and a crop sensor camera dof shouldn’t have been an issue although at f/9 the fg might still be too close. I can’t find anything sharp in the image at all with the large section of flowers in the RFG being really oof. Middle ground and mountains also seem soft. Also I would crop to just above the white flower entering in the bottom middle. It should be either in or out.
